Book With No WordsWhen Frances Vesma first suggested that we produce the Book With No Words I had little idea of the scale of the challenge. The objective seemed straightforward enough - produce a book with prints of various paintings and pictures by Frances. She had both the artistic experience and the creative vision and was responsible for all aesthetic decisions. I have studied and practiced science and technology for over thirty years and was responsible for technical decisions. During the process of researching and producing the Book With No Words we followed many wrong turns and encountered many dead ends. The most challenging part of the project was learning how to create high quality scans, photographs and (giclée) Fine Art Prints. The book consists of about 300 such prints together with introduction, contents and chapter pages (all done with no words). The papers we used are described under Materials and Methods, Paper. The book is bound by Bristol Bound.
